Created in 1981, Motofil main goal was, and still is, to present the ideal solutions to support the needs of the different industrial sectors.
The company began its activity with the manufacturing of electric motores, enameled wire and small welding machines. Later, in search for a greater competitive advantage, Motofil start to focus in developing robotized industrial solutions. Over the years, and given the increase of Motofil's technical know-how, the company began to invest in other sectors of activity. Today, Motofil is able to offer a wide range of robotics, handling, automation, thermal cutting and tooling solutions.
Our main customers are in the metalworking, renewable energy, mobile and agricultural machinery manufacturing, aeronautics, metal processing and automotive sectors. These are industries where production processes increasingly require the inclusion of robot applications with a high degree of adaptability.
The quality of our products and the trust of our clients led to the company's fast growth and the creation of delegations in Spain, Brazil and Mexico. The step was taken so we can be closer to our clients in the different parts of the world, ensuring a better response time to all the requests. Working with a strategic partners hub around the world ensures that we are ready to deliver the right solution for each market with high quality standards which will surely increase the client's productivity.

1981
MOTOFIL - Motores e Fios, Lda, begins its activity focused on the manufacture of electric motors and enameled copper wire.
1985
Motofil first participation in an industrial products trade show.
1988
Production of the first manual and resistance welding machines.
1992
Creation of an R&D department dedicated to the development of robotic applications.
1999
Beginning of the production of large submerged arc welding machines.
2004
Motofil moves to the new 260.000m2 industrial park, in Zona Industrial das Ervosas.
2007
Motomig begins the production of welding wire. Today, we are the only producer in the Iberian Peninsula.
2009
Motofil serviços is created with the aim of perform services in Cutting, Bending, Welding, Machining and Painting.
2010
Launch of the first Motofil's thermal cutting machine.
2010
Beginning on the investment on the south American Market with the creation of a subsidiary of Motofil in Brazil.
2011
Creation of a training center for welding and Robotics.
2012
Motofil Aeronautica arises in order to develop moulds and assembly lines fo the Aeronautics sector.
2013
Motofil launches its first 2D Fiber Laser Cutting Machine: MFL315
2014
Motofil expands to the North America with its delegation on Mexico.
2015
Motofil receives the visit of the President of the Republic of Portugal, Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
2018
Merger of group companies into one: MOTOFIL, S.A.
